This Is the Last Time | The National | Trouble Will Find Me, 2013
oh, when I lift you up you feel
like a hundred times yourself
I wish everybody knew
what’s so great about you
#what i love most is that they worked for it #like obviously we knew going in#that they are holmes and watson #they are meant to be partners #they are each other’s person #but the show didn’t just coast on that #it legitimately spent 16 episodes showing us #how they come to know each other and love each other and respect each other #so that when he finally makes this offer for real #when he articulates it #and she accepts#we believe it fully and completely and utterly #and we FEEL it
DOCTOR WHO ‘JOURNEY TO THE CENTRE OF THE TARIDS’ PICS (PART 4)!!!!
#at highgarden we have many spiders amongst the flowers #okay TYRELLS FUCKING TYRELLS and most especially MARGAERY #and by extension NATALIE GODDAMN DORMER and the way she just *gets* this character and plays her with all the nuance that she needs #and like all the tyrells have that charm and cunning but they all know margaery is the best because she’s olenna’s heir through and through #so they cool w/ just sitting back and letting marg do her thing WHAT UP MATRIARCHY
Boom. Controversial title. “I am allowed to like whomever I want!” “Your opinion is not necessarily the right one!” “I can do what I want!” I suppose that yes, you are, no it’s not and yes you can. Be my guest, ignore this post and keep walking this holy Earth; but if you like Jaime Lannister, if you really like him, there are some points that need to be made, points that are defining of his character and so often ignored that one is legitimated in their wondering whether the character you like is really Jaime Lannister or rather what you want Jaime Lannister to be. There is a difference.
The analysis will most likely cover the “A storm of swords”, “A feast for crows” and “A dance with dragons” events, but in order to get there we need a premise that covers “A game of thrones” and “A clash of kings”. Buckle up, kiddos, and let me tell you exactly who and what Jaime Lannister is, and why Jaime Lannister is not Prince Charming. (Despite the resemblance, Jesus Christ.)
(spoilers throughout A dance with dragons)
He’s like fire and ice and rage. He’s like the night and the storm in the heart of the sun. He’s ancient and forever. He burns at the centre of time and can see the turn of the universe and… he’s wonderful.
Not sure what we can do to help at this point, but following Bryan on Twitter and commenting on articles about the topic, is probably a good place to start (?)!! Any other ideas?
-Oh, by the way- he has already written part of the movie!!!!!
@rainnwilson: Getting ready to go to work at Dunder Mifflin for the very last time. It’s a sad day for comedy. And paper.
